TRG to Show NASCAR Sprint Cup, Sports Cars and Exotic Racer at the New York Auto Show
10.04.2009: TRG will be showing their Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona winning Porsche, the team's NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet and a rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT at the New York International Auto Show to be held at Jacob |
TRG will be showing their Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona winning Porsche, the team's NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet and a rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT at the New York International Auto Show to be held at Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City April 10 to April 19.
Accompanying the cars will be team owner Kevin Buckler, TRG sports car drivers Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly and TRG Motorsports NASCAR hot-shoe David Gilliland. Lally will be on hand to sign autographs on April 14th at 1:00 p.m. and April 15th at 3:00 p.m.; Pumpelly on April 16th at 4:00 p.m. and Gilliland on April 13th and 14th at 12:00 p.m.
The team will share the space located in the Mezzanine in the South Concourse with New Jersey Motorsports Park, the nearest track to New York City, which holds professional racing events and will be the future home of TRG Northeast.
TRG owner Kevin Buckler is using the show to highlight the TRG portfolio of business, partnership and marketing opportunities.
“We run cars in the Grand-Am Rolex and KONI Challenge Series', the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the most competitive racing series in the world, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series,” Buckler said. “We can offer select amateur and professional drivers an unprecedented opportunity to partner with one of the top racing organizations in North America. We offer companies a total marketing package to get their brand in front of a host of customers at more than 50 venues across the United States and Canada. We plan to use the show to do business, not just show our nice shiny race cars. We will also be showing racers and car enthusiasts the plans for our new state-f-the-art 50,000 square foot facility at New Jersey Motorsports Park.”
TRG will feature the No. 67 Porsche GT3 that won the Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona and will compete at New Jersey Motorsport Park on April 25th and the No. 71 TRG Motorsports NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet Impala SS that will be running at Talladega Super Speedway on April 26.
Additionally, a rare Mercedes-Benz SLR722 GT Edition, only 21 have been built, will be a feature of the TRG display. Being flown directly from Germany, the car will be a great addition to the stable of racing cars in the booth. These vehicles highlight TRG's ability to look after not only professional racing cars, but also the company's capability to maintain exotics and utilize its line-up of professional drivers to teach high-speed car control and racing technique. TRG is looking to homologate the SLR722 for racing in North America and is searching for partners to assist with this exciting project.
TRG was founded in 1993 and has been competing at the top level of motor racing ever since. The team has the most wins of any team in the Grand-Am Rolex Series with 25, including the 2005 and 2006 Rolex Series GT championship trophy to go along with wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
TRG is a manufacturer and distributor of high-performance racing parts. The group specializes in engine and chassis tuning as well as full service professional race car preparation. The company also provides electrical and mechanical engineering services, driver development and arrive-and-drive opportunities. TRG is based in Petaluma, Calif., near its home track of Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. The company's NASCAR operation is based in Mooresville, North Carolina and a new state-of-the-art facility is coming on-line at New Jersey Motorsports Park in late 2009.
